Chris has over 10 years of experience as an Operational Meteorologist, and joined WDT in 2012 to start WeatherOps, focusing on outdoor event safety. He is now the Director of WeatherOps Forecast Services where he oversees the day to day operations of the department. Prior to WDT, most of his career was focused on Marine Meteorology, with areas of expertise including knowledge of worldwide ocean climatology, tropical storm forecasting, and both offshore and cross-ocean vessel forecasting. His prior marine weather skills helped to launch the Marine sector of WeatherOps in 2013. In his time with WDT/WeatherOps Chris has provided top-notch nowcasting and mid-range forecasting and has forged several strong relationships with key figures within the outdoor event industry. He has also performed on-site weather support for numerous outdoor festivals and high profile sporting events.
