WeatherOps is proud to provide Forecast Services to Fox Sports during the 2018 World Cup. Our forecasters will generate customized weather alerts and make phone calls as needed. High precision lightning alerting has been implemented to allow for rapid notification of potential threats in and around the venues.
The twelve venues are mainly confined to European Russia to mitigate long travel times for teams throughout the event. They span from Kaliningrad, a Russian exclave on the Baltic Sea, eastward to Ekaterinburg in the east-central part of the country.
Frontier Weather Temperatures and Precipitation
Thunderstorms are possible during June and July across most of the country, and severe weather can allow for gusty winds, large hail and sometimes tornadoes. Our latest monthly forecasts from Frontier Weather show there is a chance of above average temperatures and below average precipitation across much of Russia throughout June and into July. While there still may be periods of thunderstorms and showers, the coverage may not be extensive.
