Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible Monday across the Northern Plains and Midwest.

An upper level trough will move northeastward across the Northern Plains and into the Midwest and Great Lakes today, bringing a broad area of showers and thunderstorms. While no severe weather is expected, lightning, winds to 40 miles per hour, and small hail will be possible.

Excessive rainfall will occur across portions of the Eastern Dakotas, Iowa, and Minnesota. Rainfall amounts as high as 1.5" will be possible.
