Showers and thunderstorms will continue today for portions of the Southeast. Tonight, some thunderstorms will be likely for portions of the High Plains. Scattered showers will be possible for portions of the Northwest.

A shortwave trough moving across the Great Lakes will help bring a cold front to the East Coast over the next 24 hours. Ahead of the front, scattered showers are ongoing and will persist through tonight from the Southeast and into New England. A few thunderstorms will be possible tonight for portions of the High Plains as a trough moves into the Rockies. Small hail and damaging winds will be possible with the stronger storms.
