Hazardous Weather Outlook for Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Light icing will be possible for Tuesday across portions of West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina. Light to moderate snow is possible for portions of the Northern Plains and Great Lakes. Across the Pacific Northwest, snow will be possible late Tuesday.

The ongoing winter storm will exit the Mid Atlantic Tuesday morning. On the back end of the system, showers will be possible from Florida to Virginia. Some light freezing rain and sleet will be possible for portions of North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Up to a tenth of an inch of ice will be possible. Across the Northern Plains and Great Lakes, light to moderate snow will be possible for the Northern Plains and Great Lakes. 5-10 inches of snow will be possible. A new area of low pressure will bring rain and snow to the Pacific Northwest with snow in the higher elevations and rain in the lower elevations.
