March Will Enter Like a Lion

Can you believe that March starts tomorrow? There is an old proverb that says "If March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb." The thought is that if you have a severe start to the month, it should end calmly. Well, for those on the east coast, the weather is preparing to roar.
Viewing the WeatherOps precipitation forecast, you can see a massive storm developing in the Atlantic Ocean. This deep low-pressure system is expected to bring not only heavy rain but also strong winds.
For those in the Great Lakes on Thursday, winter weather is expected in the form of rain showers before turning to snow as cold air enters the area. By Friday, the low-pressure system will be causing problems for all those along the northeast coast. Strong winds will make for dangerous travel due to blowing snow.
This intense storm system would be hazardous for any ships in the Atlantic. One cruise line that won't have to worry as much about the weather is Royal Caribbean. As one of our clients, they receive specialized WeatherOps forecasts for the routes of their ships.
