Excessive rainfall is possible on Wednesday across Southern New England.

An area of low pressure over the eastern US is expected to amplify as it tracks from the Great Lakes to the Northeast. Downstream of the trough, ongoing showers and thunderstorms will continue throughout the day with a slight risk for excessive rainfall. Minor flooding and runoff is possible from Eastern Pennsylvania into Southern New England. Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches will be possible, though some isolated areas may receive up to 3 inches.
