There is an elevated risk for excessive rainfall and flooding on Saturday across the Southern Plains and Texas.
A cold front will slowly move southeastward into the south central US and interact with the remnants of Hurricane Patricia. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are possible across the Southern Plains and much of southern and eastern Texas. Due to the deep moisture in place, there will likely be an elevated threat for excessive rainfall and potential flash flooding. Rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches can be expected with locally higher amounts in excess of 5 inches.
