A cold front extending from Maine southwestward into the Gulf States will push off the coast late on Tuesday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across the Northeast with moderate to heavy rainfall and occasional lightning the main hazards. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms could form along the gulf coast through the afternoon hours as well.
