Severe thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall is possible on Thursday across West Texas. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across the Midwest.
The strong upper level low is forecast to cut off from the westerly flow and slowly retrograde to the southwest. This will allow for another round of thunderstorms across western Texas. Severe thunderstorms are possible with large hail and strong winds the primary hazards. In addition, heavy rain will be possible with widespread accumulations in excess of one inch and some locally higher amounts in excess of two inches.
A cold front is forecast to move through the Great Lakes. Severe thunderstorms are possible across portions of Iowa and Illinois with large hail being the main threat.
