Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday across the Central Plains.
There is a conditional chance for strong to severe thunderstorms across the Central Plains today as a large upper level trough along the west coast deepens as it moves through the front. The focus for forcing will be along and ahead of a front extending from South Dakota into western Kansas. Dewpoints will increase into the mid 60s ahead of the front and combining with surface heating, moderate instability should be in place, If there is enough heating, storms will develop during the afternoon hours. The main hazard with any storm would be damaging winds. Storms should quickly dissipate after sunset.
