Strong thunderstorms are possible on Friday across the Upper Midwest. Heavy rain is possible across the Midwest.
An upper level disturbance moving eastward across the Upper Midwest may interact with a boundary moving southward out of Canada. Thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and evening. Conditions may support a few strong to severe thunderstorms with hail and gusty winds the main hazards.
An area of low pressure will continue to track eastward across the Midwest. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely and will eventually spread into the Upper Mississippi Valley and then into the southwestern Great Lakes. 1-3 inches of rain will be possible for most areas, but some could pick up in excess of 5 inches.
