Thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon and evening across the Northern Plains ahead of a cold front.
The area of low pressure across Southern Canada will continue to track eastward with the trailing cold front extending southward across the Dakotas. Ahead of the cold front, ascent and daytime heating will allow for thunderstorm development. Hail and damaging winds will be the main hazards. Into the evening, thunderstorms will become more linear, increasing the threat for damaging winds.
