Thunderstorms are possible on Thursday across the Great Lakes. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible across the Northern Plains. Scattered thunderstorms are likely across Florida.
A shortwave trough is forecast to move into the Great Lakes region, providing upper level support for the development of strong to severe thunderstorms. Thunderstorms will be widely scattered, but any thunderstorms that develop will have the potential for gusty winds and large hail.
The aforementioned trough will bring a chance for thunderstorms across the Northern Plains as well. Gusty winds and large hail will be the primary hazards.
A stalled front across northern and central Florida will bring scattered thunderstorms to portions of Florida. Gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rain will be the primary impacts.
