Strong thunderstorms are possible Thursday from the Northeast to the Gulf Coast.
A trough stretching all the way down the Atlantic Coast along with an attendant cold front will allow for a large swath of thunderstorms. Although a decent severe weather threat is not likely due to cloud cover and inhibition along this boundary, pockets of stronger heating should cause local regions of stronger thunderstorms to form with damaging wind gusts being the primary threat along the entirety of this range. Thunderstorms will continue to congeal into clusters and linear segments as they form.
