Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Friday for portions of the Southern Plains and Southeast. Heavy rainfall and flooding is possible for the Southern Plains and Mid South.
Central & Southeast: The nearly stationary frontal boundary will continue to provide a focus for thunderstorm activity from the Central Plains eastward to the Carolina Coast on Friday. Some enhanced thunderstorm activity may also develop along outflow boundaries left over from thunderstorms that dissipate and/or weaken early in the morning. Damaging winds will again be the main threat.
Southern Plains & Mid-South: Due to repeated rounds of thunderstorms, a swath of heavy rain is expected from Oklahoma eastward into the Tennessee Valley. Rainfall amounts of 2+ inches may be possible. In addition, areas that received heavy rain on Thursday will likely be under an increased flooding threat.
