Severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday for the Southeast, Ohio River Valley, and Mid Atlantic, as well as the Northern High Plains.
An area of low pressure and cold front will move slowly eastward through the day. The associated warm front will allow for increased instability from the Mid Atlantic to the Southeast . Thunderstorms with damaging winds will be the main concern.
An upper level disturbance is forecast to dive southeastward across the Northern High Plains on Tuesday. A nearly stationary front will be the focal point for thunderstorm development during the afternoon. Thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes will be possible.
