Severe thunderstorms are possible Saturday across the Mid Atlantic. Heavy rain and flooding is possible for the Northeast.
Mid-Atlantic: An upper level low will continue to deepen and strengthen over the Great Lakes region. Meanwhile, the surface low will also strengthen and shift eastward towards the coast, allowing for a heightened severe weather threat for the Upper Carolinas through the Delmarva region. Any thunderstorms that can remain discrete on Saturday will have a potential for large hail and damaging wind gusts as well as a tornado, however storms are expected to quickly merge into a line with a heightened damaging wind gust threat expected for most of the day.
Northeastern US: The heavy rainfall potential will continue into Saturday, with parts of the eastern Great Lakes through the Atlantic Coast seeing another potential for 2+ inches from the heavy rainfall in the region. Flash flooding will yet again be possible.
