Delmarva into Lower New England: A low pressure system responsible for Monday’s
severe weather across the Midwest is expected to lift across the Northeast region along
with an approaching cold front. Showers and thunderstorms can be expected from the
Ohio Valley into much of New England with a risk for isolated damaging wind gusts and
hail. The greatest area at risk for severe impacts should exist from the Delmarva region
into Lower New England. Across this area, sufficient instability and deep-layer shear will
promote a favorable environment for hazardous thunderstorms capable of producing high
winds, isolated large hail, and even a low threat for tornadoes, particularly across New
England.

Missouri & Middle Mississippi Valleys: A stationary front draped across the Central CONUS
may support severe thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours dependent
upon whether storms can overcome a capping inversion aloft during the afternoon hours.
Any storms that develop will likely pose a risk for hail and damaging winds.

Northern/Central High Plains: Severe thunderstorms are expected to move off the high
terrain from Montana into Colorado on Tuesday as daytime heating contributes to modest
to moderate instability across the region. Strong to severe thunderstorms will pose a risk
for isolated large hail and damaging winds by late afternoon.
