Thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of a slow moving cold front stretched across the Central Plains and into the Southern Great Lakes allowing for showers and thunderstorms for most of the day. Moderate instability and favorable wind shear will allow for the development of isolated severe thunderstorms with supercells possible. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main concerns, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected across the Midwest along the cold front. Deep moisture will allow for 3-4 inches of rain with locally higher amounts in excess of 5 inches possible in heavy rain bands and slow moving thunderstorms.
