by WeatherOps, on Jun 10, 2015 9:58:56 AM

Hazardous thunderstorms are possible Wednesday across the Central Great Plains. Heavy rain is expected across the Northern Great Plains.

Central Great Plains:Thunderstorms are expected to develop near a stationary front that will be stretched across the Central Great Plains on Thursday afternoon. Conditions will be favorable for some of these storms to become severe, with large hail being the primary hazard. While the tornado threat is expected to be low, an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out.

Northern Great Plains:Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop north of a stationary front stretched across Nebraska and Iowa on Thursday. North of the front, conditions are not expected to be favorable for severe weather. Despite this, the widespread nature of the showers and thunderstorms, as well as the deep moisture that is expected to be in place, heavy rainfall is expected. Widespread rainfall totals of two to four inches are expected, with locally higher amounts in excess of six inches possible in some locations.
