Hazardous Weather Outlook for Thursday, June 4, 2015
by WeatherOps, on Jun 3, 2015 10:02:12 AM
Hazardous thunderstorms are possible Thursday across the Central High Plains and the Southeast. Heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding is possible for portions of Nebraska and Iowa.
Central High Plains/Central CONUS:Another round of showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the Central US with the best severe risk likely in the high plains. However, the line of thunderstorms expected on Wednesday will help to complicate the forecast due to strong outflow possible. Nonetheless, another round of isolated thunderstorms is forecast to be possible during the afternoon due in part to upslope flow before another line forms from these storms in the evening and propagates eastward through the outlook region.
Southeast:The upper-low will drift slowly east-southeast, allowing for another round of strong to some potentially severe thunderstorms in the Southeast US.
Nebraska/Iowa:Thunderstorms moving through the region during the morning and once again in the evening could promote areas of widespread flooding, with 2+ inches possible causing localized flash flooding.
