Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday across West Texas. North Locally heavy rainfall is possible across North Central Texas and Southern Oklahoma.
A shortwave trough over Arizona will continue to move eastward into the Plains and provide lift across much of the Plains. Over West Texas and the Texas Panhandle, a warm., moist, and unstable air mass will allow for isolated thunderstorms to become severe. Any storms that develop will have the potential for large hail and damaging winds. Isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected across North Central Texas and Southern Oklahoma. While the severe threat should be confined to West Texas, thunderstorms may produce heavy rain across North Central Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Widespread rainfall accumulations of one to three inches will be possible with isolated amounts of over four inches. Flash flooding will be possible in some areas.
