Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday across West Texas.
An isolated risk for severe thunderstorms will be possible across parts of West Texas on Wednesday as a slow moving front moves across the region. While there will not be much upper-level support for thunderstorm development, a cold front stretched across the region could act as a trigger for isolated thunderstorm development. If thunderstorms do indeed develop, ample instability, moisture, and wind shear, could allow for some storms to become severe and be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds. While the tornado threat appears low at this time, an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out.
