An intense upper level trough will move into the southern High Plains, providing the lift necessary for the development of showers and thunderstorms across much of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Very deep moisture in place over the region will allow for thunderstorms to produce very heavy rains. Widespread totals of 1-2 inches with isolated amounts in excess of four inches possible in some areas. While a few isolated strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, widespread severe weather is not anticipated. The most likely location for any severe weather will be over west Texas along a dry line.
