Ongoing showers and thunderstorms as well as cloud cover will cause some uncertainty in the severity of the storms across the Central and Southern Plains. Enough clearing to the west should allow for destabilization and thunderstorm development. Storms will start off as cells and then merge into a line this afternoon with hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes possible.

Along the dryline during the early evening, there will be a more moderate threat for tornadic development across Oklahoma through Kansas as the jet strengthens. Supercells with large hail, winds in excess of 65 mph, and tornadoes will be possible.
