Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop across the Southern Plains Friday afternoon and continue through the evening.
A cutoff low over the Four Corners region will slowly move eastward toward the Southern Plains and is expected to move into Colorado by late Friday. With instability in place ahead of the low, a slow moving dryline will allow for severe thunderstorms across the Southern Plains. Thunderstorms will begin in the early afternoon and continue into the evening with the potential for large hail, damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, heavy rain, and lightning.
