Light to moderate snow is possible Friday from the Southern Rockies to the Southern Plains; locally heavy accumulations possible. Scattered rain and snow showers are possible across the Western US; light to moderate snow possible in the higher elevations.

A weak area of low pressure will move into the Southern Plains from the Southern Rockies allowing for snow accumulations of 2-6 inches. Some localized areas of Colorado and Northern New Mexico may pick up 8-10 inches. Light icing up to .05 inches will be possible from Dallas to San Antonio. By evening, activity across West Texas and North Central Texas will diminish before another round on Saturday.

An area of low pressure will move into the Pacific Northwest will allow for the scattered rain and snow showers from California to Washington. 3-6 inches of snow with localized heavier amounts in excess of 8 inches will be possible.
