Snow is continuing across portions of the Northeast and Appalachians ahead of a shortwave trough. While most areas will receive 2-4 inches of snow, some areas may pick up as much as 6 inches of snow, especially across West Virginia and in Western New York where lake effect snow is possible on the southeast shore of Lake Superior. In addition, temperatures below zero and light winds will allow for wind chills as low as -40.
