Moderate to heavy snow, as well as light icing. is likely Friday for portions of the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies.
A strong area of low pressure and cold front will continue to develop and slowly move eastward across the Pacific Northwest and Rockies, allowing for continued moderate snow across the region. Accumulations of 4-8 inches of snow will be possible, but up to 15 inches will be possible in the highest elevations. In the valleys, a wintry mix will be possible; no significant accumulations are expected, though some areas along the Oregon/Idaho border may see up to a tenth of an inch of ice. Delays due to reduced visibility and slick roads will be possible.
