An approaching area of low pressure will advance onshore and into the Pacific Northwest Thursday afternoon. With moist air being transported onshore and cold temperatures in place, moderate to heavy snow will be possible across portions of the Coastal Range and Cascades. 2-8 inches of snow will be possible, with 12-14 inches possible in the highest elevations. A slight risk for sleet and freezing rain will exist through the day as temperatures remain at or slightly above freezing. Ice accumulations to a quarter of an inch will be possible, in addition to winds to 15-25 miles per hour will limit visibility and allow roads to become hazardous.
