Light to moderate snow will be possible Friday for the Great Lakes and Northeast; localized heavy lake effect snow is possible. Across Central Texas, freezing rain will be possible late Friday night into Saturday morning. Up to a quarter inch of ice will be possible.

Great Lakes & Northeast: Weak low pressure will continue to slowly exit the Great Lakes and through the Northeast on Friday allowing for a continued lake effect snow event across the region. Accumulations will near a foot of snow across parts of Upstate New York with other seeing anywhere from 4 to 8 inches throughout the day. Lighter amounts of snow on the range of 2 to 4 inches will be possible across parts of Interior New England and Maine.

Central Texas: A cold front will surge southward across the Plains on Friday and mix with a moisture surge from the Western Gulf. This will allow for light freezing rain across much of Central Texas for Friday evening going into Saturday morning. Most of the accumulation will likely accumulated on elevated surfaces and could reach a quarter inch by Saturday morning.
