Light to moderate snow will continue Wednesday across the Great Lakes and Northeast. Lake effect snow with heavy snow accumulations will be possible in some areas.
Brisk northwest winds across the Great Lakes will allow for lake effect snow for much of the day. Accumulations of 4-8 inches of snow will be common, but some isolated areas may see up to 10 inches of snow in the strongest bands. Further east, moderate to heavy snow will subside as an area of low pressure continues to advance eastward. Heavy snow and strong winds will reduce visibilities and make travel difficult through Thursday.
