Moderate snow is possible on Tuesday across the Northern Rockies. Light to moderate snow, with some accumulations up to a foot of snow, will be possible across the Great Lakes and Northeast.
Northern Rockies: A secondary shortwave trough will move across the Northern Rockies on Tuesday and combined with continued moisture from the Pacific due to a stationary front will allow for continued moderate to heavy snow across parts of Montana and Northern Wyoming. An additional 5-10 inches of snowfall is possible across this region. No significant icing is currently expected with this system.
Great Lakes and Northeast: Low pressure trough will quickly move northeastward into the Northeast on Tuesday allowing for light to moderate snow across the region. Accumulations will likely average 4 to 8 inches in most locations with isolated locations along the lakeshore areas seeing as high as 12 inches due to the development of lake effect snow bands.
