Light to moderate snow will fall across the Great Lakes and Northeast with heavy snow over Northern Maine, Light snow will develop late this afternoon and evening over the Central Plains. Moderate mountain snow likely across the Southwest and California.

An area of low pressure moving east northeast out of the Great Lakes will merge with a second low moving northward along the Eastern Seaboard, bringing a swath of light to moderate snow from Northern Michigan to Northern Maine. 2-6 inches of snow will be possible for much of the region, but Northern Maine could pick up over 6 inches of snow.

Across the Central Plains, an upper level disturbance will move out of the Rockies and interact with a surge of Gulf moisture. Light snow will develop across the Central Plains and Missouri this afternoon and evening. 1-3 inches of snow will be possible.

An eastward moving disturbance will bring moderate to heavy snow to portions of the Southwest. Snow levels will be around 5500 feet with accumulations of 3-6 inches possible.

Snow will continue for the Sierra Nevada range above 5000 feet. 3-6 inches of snow are expected with isolated areas receiving up to a foot of snow.
