Rain and higher elevation snow is beginning along the west coast. As the activity begins to move further inland, rain will begin to change over to snow in the higher elevations. Some areas of the Sierra Nevada could pick up 3 feet of snow and blizzard conditions with winds to 70 miles per hour will be possible above 6,000 feet. In the lower elevations, heavy rain and flooding will be likely. Up to 6 inches of rain will be possible in most areas, but some isolated areas could pick up as much as 8 inches of rain.
