Winter Storm Watches are in effect for a large portion of New England from tonight through Tuesday evening. A system over the Great Lakes will continue to advance eastward and as it does, heavy snow will be possible for much of the region, possibly up to a foot of snow in some places. In addition, winds to 30 miles per hour coupled with heavy snow may contribute to downed trees and power lines. Travel may also be slick and hazardous in some areas.
