Scattered showers, with the potential for heavy rain, is possible Tuesday for Southern California. Light freezing rain and sleet is possible for portions of the Central Appalachians and Mid Atlantic.
Southern California:Low pressure off the coast of California will move into the Great Basin region on Tuesday with fairly widespread shower activity expected across California. Potential will exist for heavy rain across the southern coastal areas with between 1 and 2 inches falling through Tuesday night. Activity will pose a risk for flash flooding and runoff.
Central Appalachians/ Mid-Atlantic:Monday’s shower activity and associated winter weather will shift into the Mid-Atlantic region on Tuesday with another small risk for freezing rain. Like Monday, surfaces could see a glaze to a tenth of an inch of freezing rain.
