Moderate to heavy lake effect snow will develop across the Great Lakes Thursday morning.
Lake effect snow will begin across the Great Lakes early Thursday morning as another low pressure trough moves across the region with the highest amounts expected across the lake shore areas of Pennsylvania and New York with accumulations exceeding a foot in areas that receive the strongest bands. Lighter accumulations are expected across parts of Michigan and Wisconsin.
Elsewhere, from Northern California northward scattered showers are expected across the Pacific Northwest as a low pressure system slowly moves inland across the region. Rain accumulations are not expected to exceed an inch. Light to moderate snow is expected across the high terrain of the intermountain west with accumulations expected to average 3 to 6 inches.
