General showers and thunderstorms are possible Tuesday from the Four Corners region to portions of Texas. Heavy rain and flash flooding will continue for portions of the Pacific Northwest.
Four Corners/Texas:
The southern end of a large trough moving across Rockies on Tuesday will mix with lingering moisture and instability from the Gulf of Mexico will create conditions favorable for afternoon showers and thunderstorms across the Four Corners into the Rio Grande. Severe storms are not anticipated through the region, though stronger storms could produce wind gusts and small hail.
Pacific Northwest:
A strong low pressure system will slowly move a trough and cold front inland across the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday likely allowing for continued steady rainfall throughout the day. Rainfall amounts could exceed 3+ inches in some locations with flash flooding possible.
