Severe thunderstorms are possible today for portions of Arizona ahead of an upper level trough moving onto the California coast. Strong shear and sufficient instability will allow for the development of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. As thunderstorms develop, large hail and damaging winds will be the main concerns, but isolated tornadoes will also be possible.
