General thunderstorms are possible Wednesday for portions of Texas, the Gulf Coast, and the Carolinas. Across the Central Plains and Midwest, general thunderstorms with some isolated severe thunderstorms with hail and damaging winds will be possible. Showers and thunderstorms will continue across the Desert Southwest; isolated severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, and flooding will be possible.

Ongoing showers and thunderstorms through the Central Plains will be possible early in the forecast period through Kansas and Missouri as a low pressure disturbance moves through the region. With moisture and instability in place over the region, stronger to isolated severe storms are possible with the main threats remaining hail and isolated wind gusts over 50 mph. In the Southeast, additional showers and thunderstorms are expected through the Northern Gulf of Mexico and Florida as the frontal boundary remains nearly stationary. Severe weather is not anticipated at this time.

Remnants of Tropical Storm Odile will continue to lift northward slowly keeping showers and thunderstorms possible through the Desert Southwest. An additional 2 inches of precipitation will be possible through the region with risk for flash flooding and locally heavy rainfall.
