Showers and general thunderstorms are possible Friday for portions of the Southern Plains and Southeast. Across the Upper Midwest, scattered showers are possible.
By Friday, surface high pressure should expand further into the Central CONUS as Thursday’s low pressure system digs across the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes. A secondary cold will reach the Southern High Plains region by Friday evening with showers and thunderstorms anticipated from eastern portions of New Mexico all the way into the Delmarva region. Steady light to moderate rain is also expected across the Central Plains from Nebraska/Kansas, eastward, into Iowa and portions of the Upper Midwest. No severe weather is expected.
