Showers and thunderstorms will continue Saturday for portions of the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Northeast. Across the Northern Plains, afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be possible for portions of the Northern Plains; hail and damaging winds will be the main threats. Heavy rain will continue for the Gulf States.
While severe thunderstorms are not anticipated, isolated hail and damaging winds will be possible. Further west, strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible for portions of the Northern Plains. Hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes will be possible. Activity will eventually move into North Dakota and bring heavy rain. Up to 1.5 inches of rain will be possible.
A disturbance in the Northern Gulf of Mexico will bring showers and thunderstorms to the Gulf Coast states with the heaviest rain along the Texas/Louisiana border. Up to 4 inches of rain and flooding will be possible.
