Showers and thunderstorms are developing across portions of the Northeast and Appalachians ahead of a midlevel trough. With the presence of daytime heating, low level moisture, and ascent, further thunderstorms are possible this afternoon. As thunderstorms develop, damaging winds and hail will be the main concern, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
