Heavy rainfall and flooding will be possible for portions of the Upper Northeast on Wednesday. Across the Pacific Northwest, severe thunderstorms will be possible.
By Wednesday, much of the Central and Eastern CONUS will see fair skies as a cold front pushes into the North-Central Gulf and offshore of the Mid-Atlantic Coast. However, a lingering trough of low pressure over the eastern CONUS will support more showers and thunderstorms over New England. Heavy rain is likely with a moderate risk for flooding over central New England as amounts of 3 to 5 inches are possible. The risk for severe weather in the Pacific Northwest will continue on Wednesday. More of the same threats will occur as large supercells capable of damaging winds and strong downbursts winds are possible.
