Widespread strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible for portions of the Central Plains and Great Lakes. Heavy rain, damaging winds, and tornadoes will be possible.
Some thunderstorms will be possible across portions of Illinois and Indiana into the early morning, but most activity should die out by sunrise. An area of low pressure and the attendant cold front will move into the Great Lakes. Ahead of the front, sufficient destabilization will allow for thunderstorms by late afternoon. Damaging winds and isolated tornadoes will be possible. Some flooding will be possible across this area as over 2 inches of rain will be possible in some areas.
