Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Friday for portions of the Upper Midwest and Western Great Lakes; hail and damaging winds will be possible. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible for the Southeast; a few isolated severe thunderstorms will be possible.
An area of low pressure will continue to push across the Plains and Upper Midwest, shifting the severe weather further to the east across the Plains and Upper Mississippi Valley. Large hail and damaging winds would be the main concerns.
An area of low pressure and the associated warm front will bring a chance for heavy rain across portions of Iowa and Illinois, as well as strong to severe storms. Hail would be the main concern. The front lingering across portions of the Southeast will allow for showers and non severe thunderstorms.
