Heavy rain with isolated severe thunderstorms and flooding will be possible today for portions of the Southern Plains.

An area of high pressure will build across the Eastern US. Meanwhile, a slow moving upper level disturbance will continue to progress across the Southern Plains. A front over Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas will allow for widespread rain. While no widespread severe weather is expected, areas of West Central and Northwest Texas may see a few isolated severe thunderstorms capable of hail and damaging winds. Across the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles, and points southeastward, 3-4 inches of rain is possible, in addition to flooding.
