Helping Business Weather the Storm

Hazardous Weather Outlook for Wednesday, June 25, 2014

by WeatherOps, on Jun 24, 2014 4:10:40 PM

Severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday for portions of the Central and Western High Plains. Heavy rain and flooding will be possible for the New England region.

A deepening low pressure trough will create conditions favorable for showers and thunderstorms to develop across the Northern Plains on Wednesday. From Montana to Wyoming and into Nebraska, storms will form along the higher terrain and propagate eastward. Large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes will be possible. Meanwhile, areas of the Northeastern US could see thunderstorms capable of gusty winds as a weak frontal boundary advances through the region. As it does, additional showers are expected through the Northern New England states. Accumulations of up to 3 inches will be possible. Localized flooding of roadways and streams could occur as parts of the area have already received 1-2 inches of rain on Tuesday.
